Q: Is Nitrobyte a legitimate business?

A: Yes, we are a registered New Zealand business. Our New Zealand Business Number (NZBN) is 9429051566531. As a new company, we still don’t have many customer reviews. However, you can view the feedback we have received so far on Trustpilot or TradeMe.

Q: Is this a local business?

Q: How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is between $6-$30.50 depending on the size of the order and delivery location. After adding an item to your cart and entering your address you will get an estimate. Alternatively, you can become a member for free and get shipping at no cost, as well as over benefits. Find out more here.

About our gaming computers

Q: What are your refurbished gaming computers?

A: Our refurbished gaming PCs are used/exlease/refurbished office, workstation or gaming PCs that have been taken in by us and turned into modern gaming systems. We upgrade them with new or high-quality used parts, such as RAM, storage, GPU, etc., to make them fast, reliable, and ready for gaming.

Q: Are your systems used?  

A: Yes, all systems labelled with either pre-owned or refurbished are used or contain used parts. However, we ensure that they are in good condition and meet our quality standards before selling them.

Q: Are they reliable?

A: Yes, they are. All of our systems go through rigorous tests and benchmarks to ensure not just that the computer is reliable but also that it is running and performing to a high standard. You can see this page for information on our testing process.

About our warranty and returns policy

Q: Do you offer a warranty?

A: Yes! All of our products include at least a 90-day warranty as well as 14 day returns for peace of mind. The warranty period for computer systems is typically longer at 12 months. For more information see our warranty policy.

About our performance benchmarks and compatibility

Q: Will  *this computer* be able to run *this game* or *this software*?

Every computer has done multiple performance benchmarks which have been conveniently turned into a report that is viewable on the product page. Often you’ll find that the game or software you’re interested in has been tested in one of our benchmarks. If not, you could always compare the score said computer has achieved in a relevant, benchmark (like Unigine or Geekbench) and compare it to a different computer that can run that game or software.
